Alevan Botanica Ingredients
All of our ingredients are organic with no harmful additives such as parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, or synthetic fragrances in any products. We use only the highest quality, organic essential oils and carrier oils. All of our products are hand-blended, in small batches by us in our Central Illinois studio. Our ingredient list is always high-quality, pure and short. We believe a shorter ingredient list and a shorter shelf life are key to better health. Each product is a representation of our ethos, down to the very last detail.
Lavender
Lavandula angustifolia is obtained by steam distillation of the flowering tops. The lavender essential oil we use in our products is organic and from France. In the Lamiaceae family, Lavender is particularly valued for its fragrant, calming and regenerating virtues. Lavender is a harmonizing essential oil that you will find in many of our products; it is soothing to both the skin and nervous system.
Bergamot
Citrus Aurantium Bergamia is obtained through expression of the zest. The Bergamot essential oil we use in our products is organic and cultivated in Italy. In the Rutaceae family, Bergamot is valued for its uplifting aroma and its affinity for the nervous system. Bergamot is helpful for anxiety and some symptoms of depression and stagnation. We use Bergamot that is Bergapten-free in our organic essential oil products, so there is no phototoxicity when being outside in the sunlight.
Ylang Ylang
Cananga Odorata is obtained from distillation of the flowers. The ylang ylang essential oil we use in our products is organic and is cultivated in Madagascar. In the Annonaceae family, this oil is known for its floral aroma and balancing properties. This sensual organic essential oil is cooling in times of anger or stress and allows for unwinding and stability.
White Grapefruit
Citrus Paradisii is expressed or distilled from the peel/zest of the fruit. The white grapefruit organic essential oil we use in our products is from the USA and Israel. This oil reduces excess Kapha congestion mentally, physically and emotionally. It is a great oil to diffuse during the work day for energy that is uplifting and inspiring.
Ginger
Zingiber Officinale is distilled from the rhizome of ginger root. The ginger we use in our products is organic and cultivated from the Ivory Coast. In Ayurveda, ginger is considered the universal medicine and beneficial for Vata disorders. Ginger destroys toxins, rekindles the digestive fire and creates a feeling of warmth. Ginger is helpful for nausea and any digestive issues as it gently soothes the stomach.
Rosemary
Rosmarinus Officinalis Cineoliferum is obtained through distillation of the flowering tops. Our rosemary organic essential oil we use in our products is cultivated in Morocco. In the Lamiaceae family, Rosemary is known for its stimulating effect and affinity with the respiratory system.
Juniper Berry
Juniperus Communis is obtained through distillation of the berries. The juniper essential oil we use in our product is organic and cultivated in Turkey. In the Cupressaceae family, Juniperus Communis is valued for its detoxifying and cleansing properties. It is uplifting and stimulating for times of mental or physical congestion.
Laurel
Laurus Nobilis is obtained through distilliation of the leaves. The laurel we use in our products is organic and cultivated in Turkey. In the Lauraceae family, laurel is valued for its affinities for the lymphatic system, the immune system and respiratory system.
Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus globulus is obtained through distillation of leaves and mature branches. The eucalyptus essential oil we use in our products is organic and cultivated from Portugal. In the myrtaceae family, eucalyptus is valued for its beneficial properties to the respiratory system.
